Taribo West Asks Mikel Obi To Sue For Peace In Row With Trabzonspor

The former Inter Milan centre-back has urged the midfielder to sheath his sword and reconcile with the Turkish side as no one knows what the future holds in stock.

Ex-Super Eagles defender Taribo West has advised Mikel Obi to forgive and forget how Trabzonspor treated him in the last few days and to offer a hand of reconciliation to the club.

Trabzonspor terminated the former Chelsea star’s contract after he objected as to why the Turkish Super League didn’t suspend its matches in the face of the dangers posed by the outbreak of the coronavirus disease.

Many European Leagues are currently on a Coronavirus-induced break. The pandemic, which originated from China, has killed over 8,000 people.

Mike has since returned to England to join his family and is already looking forward to his next challenge.

The former Super Eagles skipper also lashed out at officials of Trabzonspor and Turkish football, but 1996 Olympics gold medalist West believes there’s a better way of looking at the issue.

“I just hope that Mikel will be able to reconcile with Trabzonspor because how you leave a club, how you are relieved of your contract, or how you walk away matters,” former AC Milan star Taribo told Sports Extra.

“In the future, he might be in need of the club, and it could be the other way round. So, it is how he leaves that they will use to judge him.

“I may not really know what transpired between him and the club, whether it was as a result of the coronavirus or not.

“I just want him to leave properly. You never can rule out the possibility of the club needing him to provide them with players in the future. All that is required is peace.”

  • The Turkish club could go to hell! Mikel won't be needing them. He had already proven himself before deciding to play for them. They are clubs elsewhere, who would need him.
