The German tactician is yet to sign a new contract with just three months left on his current deal.
Super Eagles manager, Gernot Rohr, has revealed he will speak with the president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick over his contract situation next week.
It was previously reported that the former Bordeaux manager had been offered a new deal, but nothing is confirmed yet.
Rohr will arrive in the country next week ahead of the Super Eagles Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sierra Leone later this month, and he confirmed he would be meeting with Pinnick over a contract extension.
“I will meet with Amaju Pinnick next week, before our camping and we shall see, Rohr told BBC journalist Osasu Obayiuwana. Meanwhile, I will keep doing my job,” he added.
However, the German was less-optimistic on the contract renewal, but he hopes things will get better in the future.
“We hope that things will be better in the future.” We shall see what happens with the team, Rohr said.
Speaking on the appointment of Joseph Yobo as the team’s new assistant coach, Rohr admits NFF have the right to appoint the former Super Eagles captain.
Under the terms of my contract, The NFF have the right to do what they have done.”
However, he praised the work of his former assistant, Imama Amapakabo, saying he did the real work on the pitch.
