Reports: Former Super Eagles Star Sacked As Manager Of Egyptian Side

Reports reaching Soccernet.ng say former Super Eagles winger, Emmanuel Amuneke, has been sacked as the manager of Egyptian side, Misr El-Makassa after just two games in charge.

The former Barcelona winger was unveiled as the club’s boss at the beginning of last month, replacing Ahmed Mido.

He was previously with Tanzania, but he was sacked after leading the Taifa Stars to their first Africa Cup of Nations Finals for the first time since 1980.

But he could not lead the team past the group stage and was subsequently dismissed.

Following his dismissal, he signed a deal with El-Makassa, and it was supposed to keep him at the club until the end of the season. However, Soccernet gathers he has been dismissed.

The former Super Eagles star recently revealed he hopes his appointment as a manager in Egypt’s top-flight will open doors for other Nigerian coaches.

Amuneke managed El-Makassa for just two games, drawing both games. Reasons for his dismissal are still unknown, but Soccernet will provide updates as things unfold.
