Major European sides have been given the biggest green light yet regarding the Nigerian international’s future, following the comments of Lille boss Christophe Galtier over the weekend.
Coach Galtier has hinted that Victor Osimhen will be forced to listen to offers from interested clubs in the summer transfer window.
The young forward has been the subject of interest from the likes of Liverpool, AC Milan, Barcelona, and Real Madrid, following an impeccable goalscoring run since moving to the Ligue 1.
In his debut season in the French top flight, the former Sporting Charleroi striker has contributed 18 goals (13 goals, five assists) in 26 appearances to Les Dogues’ cause.
Osimhen has continuously reiterated his affection for his present team and also his desire to stay in France for more than just a single campaign.
But Galtier knows everything can change the moment one of the European giants comes in and make a big-money move for the Super Eagles attacker.
“Victor said he wanted to stay here next season,” the Lille manager told reporters at the post-match conference after yesterday’s win against Nantes.
“He’s a sincere boy. He’s happy here. He is appreciated, adored by supporters.
“Afterwards, if in a few weeks big teams arrive with an interest in him, he will be forced to listen. It is the logic of things”.
Osimhen signed a five-year contract with Lille when joining from Sporting Charleroi in August 2019.
