The President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick has paid a condolence visit to the family of the local league player that was reportedly killed by an officer of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).
Soccernet.ng reported on Sunday that Nigeria National League (NNL) player, Tiamiyu Kazeem was allegedly killed by a SARS operative in the Shagamu area of Ogun state.
The player was the assistant captain of Remo Stars until his death and was reportedly pushed onto an oncoming vehicle by the SARS operative.
Following the tragic news, NFF’s president, Amaju Pinnick, visited the family to pay his respects. Pinnick was accompanied by Remo stars chairman, Kunle Soname, Ogun state FA chairman, Ganiyu Majekodunmi and the Honourable representing Shagamu 11 constituency.
The NFF president met with the parents of Kazeem and expressed his sadness at the unfortunate incident. Meanwhile, Ogun State Governor has revealed that the culprit has been arrested, and would soon be charged to court.
