He only arrived last month, but Manchester United fans have warmed up to Odion Ighalo, while Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has also praised his attitude.
Ighalo has made three appearances off the bench for United, but he is yet to score. However, despite the lack of goals, United fans have taken well to the Nigerian with a chant already dedicated to him.
According to the Daily Star, the Red Devils fans were in full flow, singing to the tune of “Gold by Spandau Ballet” to honour Ighalo in United’s clash against Watford.
The former Super Eagles star also received praises from Solskajer. The Norwegian is happy with Ighalo’s attitude not just as an athlete, but also as a human being. He also revealed United players have warmed up to him.
“He’s a box striker, he’s a goalscorer, we’ve already seen in training. He really knows his craft,” Solskjaer said in quotes gotten from Daily Star.
“He’s a fantastic professional and human being, and he’s already added to the squad. The boys have learnt his song and already taken to him.”
Meanwhile, Ighalo also expressed his delight with the way his new teammates have accepted him into the squad.
“They are good lads,” Ighalo said. “They are happy to have me around. I have played against some before. They accept me.”
The former Nigeria international will hope to get his first start when United travel to Goodison Park to take on Everton next Sunday.
