“The beginning of good things” – Ex- Real Madrid player hails Finidi’s appointment as Super Eagles coach

Former Real Madrid B player, Mutiu Adepoju, has heralded Finidi George’s appointment as the head coach of the Nigerian national team, Soccernet.ng reports.

The current manager of Enyimba International has been named as the next coach of the Super Eagles following the exit of Jose Peseiro, who he served under as his assistant for 20 months.

In a video shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Adepoju extended his congratulations to his former teammate, on his new role with the Nigerian national team.

“Congratulations to my brother, Finidi George, for getting the final nod as Super Eagles Head Coach. Let’s join hands and wish him the best of success.” Adepoju expressed.

Emphasizing the importance of collective support for Finidi, Adepoju highlighted the potential for positive change in Nigerian football under George’s leadership.

“This is a beginning and I believe that it is going to be the beginning of good things for Nigerian football. I want to wish him all the best, I want to wish him all the support. I solicit support from everybody, all quarters to support him to succeed because his success is a success for Nigeria and the Super Eagles, so I call on everybody to support him and I believe that success will be for the Super Eagles,” he emphasized.

George assumed the interim coaching role following Peseiro’s departure after the Super Eagles’ remarkable performance in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.
