Isaac Success Delighted To See His ‘Big Brother’ Back In The Premier League

There will be a Nigerian reunion at the Old Trafford on Sunday when Manchester United host Watford in a Game Week 27 tie.

Isaac Success is looking forward to meeting “big brother” Odion Ighalo and has expressed his delight at seeing the journeyman back in the Premier League three years after leaving.

The pair were former Nigeria youth internationals, played together at La Liga side Granada and were also teammates at Watford, a sequence of events that forged them together to become like family.

Ighalo departed Watford in 2017 to the Chinese Super League, but an unexpected twist of fate saw him complete a sensational deadline day move to join Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men in January. The 30-year-old has since made his Premier League and Europa League bows for United.

Success is one of those who knew of Ighalo’s dream of playing for Manchester United, and he is pleased to see him finally fulfil it.

“I’m so pleased for him,” Success told Watford’s official website.

“He’s always wanted this, and it’s finally happened. When he finishes his career, he’ll be able to look back and say, ‘I did it. I finally made it to where I wanted to get to.’

“He messaged me straight away saying, ‘I’m back, I’m back.’ He’s so happy there and ready to start working for the team and see what he can achieve there. He’s a very hard worker and waited so patiently for this opportunity. He’s getting what he deserves.

“I know him very well.

“He played in Granada when I was there, and he told me how good it would be to come to Watford in a new environment and the Premier League.

“We still talk all the time after he left Watford, and I can talk to him even more now he’s back in England. He is always encouraging me. He’s part of my family, like a big brother to me. I appreciate that.

“I’m looking forward to seeing him on Sunday,” he concluded.
