Injured Super Eagles Goalkeeper Set For Imminent Return

Three months after suffering a career-threatening injury, shot-stopper Francis Uzoho is nearing a return to the field of play.

The injured Nigeria international goalkeeper reveals that his rehabilitation is going according to plans and he would be back soon, doing what he loves doing.

Uzoho copped the severe external meniscus and hip injury in Nigeria’s international friendly against Brazil on October 13 in Singapore.

The AC Omonia of Cyprus goalkeeper on loan from Spanish side Deportivo La Coruna was forced off the pitch in the 63rd minute of the encounter, and initial fears were that the former Golden Eaglets gloveman would be out for at least six months.

But the 21-year-old on Thursday posted a video of himself working out on his confirmed Instagram handle, to express his delight at his imminent return.

“90days after my surgery. I’ve really missed being out there on the field😭 #what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. I’m getting stronger and will be back soon, ” Uzoho wrote.

Uzoho, who has 16 caps for Nigeria, has played five times for his club this season, posting three clean sheets.
