Odion Ighalo made his European bow for Manchester United, but it was Emmanuel Dennis that grabbed the headlines as Club Brugge played out a 1-1 draw in the first leg of their round of 32 Europa League clash.
Ighalo made his Manchester United debut as a substitute in Monday’s win over Chelsea, coming on for Anthony Martial in the closing stages of the game.
It was the same case in tonight’s clash against Blauw-Zwart as he was brought on for the Frenchman in the 67th minute.
However, it was another Nigerian who stole the show as both teams cancelled out each other. Super Eagles star, Emmanuel Dennis scored his first goal in over a month when he put Club Brugge ahead in the 15th minute with a superb lob over Sergio Romero.
However, Anthony Martial ensured the spoils would be shared as he levelled the scores with a 35th-minute strike.
Both teams had chances to win it, but none could apply the finishing touch. Solskjaer will be the happier of the two managers as United earned a valuable away goal ahead of the second leg at Old Trafford next week.
