The two Nigerians faced each other as Manchester United played out a 1-1 draw against Club Brugge in their round of 32 Europa League clash on Thursday night.
Odion Ighalo made his European bow for the Red Devils, but it was Emmanuel Dennis who stood out after scoring the opener for Brugge.
Following the clash, Dennis expressed his delight at meeting Odion Ighalo for the first time, while he’s also happy to play against him.
Although both have played for the Super Eagles, they never got the chance to play together as Ighalo retired from international football shortly before Dennis made his debut.
The former Watford man retired following Super Eagles third-place finish at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, while Dennis only made his first appearance last September.
Thursday was the first time the two will be seeing each other and Dennis revealed it feels good to meet the new Manchester United signing.
“It was good. It was the first time of seeing him as a person, I’ve never seen him before, but it is good to see him, and playing Manchester is also very good,” Dennis told Nigerian Sports journalist OJB.
“He’s a good player and a good person, and I am happy I played with him on the same pitch,” he added.
