Arsenal Fans Celebrate As Watford End Liverpool’s Unbeaten Run

In what will be one of the greatest shocks in Premier League history, Watford flipped the script as they stunned unbeaten league leaders, Liverpool, with a comprehensive win that delights not only Hornets fans but also Arsenal fans.

Liverpool went into the clash at Vicarage road with the hope of setting the record for most consecutive wins after equalling Man City’s 18 wins in a row last weekend.

The Reds are unbeaten in the Premier League this season and have not lost a league game since the beginning of last year.

Watford were massive underdogs going into the game, and nobody believed the Hornets could do the impossible.

Niger Pearson’s men have won just five league games all season before Saturday evening, but they made it six at the end of the day.

In a match that would be talked about for ages, Ismaila Sarr broke the deadlock nine minutes after half-time before he scored his second of the game six minutes later.

Troy Deeney killed any hope of a Liverpool comeback as he scored Watford’s third in the 72nd minute.

The result sent shockwaves across Twitter with Arsenal fans expressing their happiness with the result. The Gunners unbeaten record set by the invincibles in the 2003/2004 season was under threat, but following Liverpool’s defeat, they get to keep the record for the unseeable future.

Even Arsenal’s official Twitter account could not resist throwing a cheeky dig.

Nevertheless, despite the defeat, Liverpool retain a comfortable 22 point lead over second-place Manchester City although the Champions have a game in hand.

Jurgen Klopp’s men are still on course to win their first league title in 30 years as they need just four more wins.  For Watford, the win boosts their survival hopes with the Hornets now out of the relegation zone.
