See What Ndidi Said After Making An Early Return In Leicester City’s Win

Wilfred Ndidi made an early return from injury in Leicester City’s Premier League win over West Ham on Wednesday at the King Power stadium.

The Foxes returned to winning ways as they thrashed the Hammers 4-1 courtesy goals from Harvey Barnes, Ricardo Periera and a brace from Ayoze Perez. Mark Noble scored West Ham’s solitary goal from the penalty spot.

But the result was not the only talking point of the game as Ndidi made a surprising return in the encounter, coming on for Nampalys Mendy in the 34th minute with the scoreline reading 2-0 then.

After having surgery on his knee, the 23-year-old was not expected to return to action until February, but in his press conference before the clash, Rodgers confirmed Ndidi could be in the squad.

Although some Foxes fans were against the idea of rushing Ndidi back to action, the Super Eagles star made his return for the Foxes by coming on for Mendy who went off injured in the 34th minute.

Shortly after the match, Ndidi took to twitter to express his delight on his return to action, while he was also happy with the win.

Ndidi’s return coincided with Leicester’s first win in four games. The Foxes failed to win any of their three games following Ndidi’s injury, and that shows the importance of the Super Eagles star. The win takes the Foxes to within three points of champions and second-placed Manchester City.
