Reports: Norway To Tie Down New Chelsea Star Who Is Also Eligible To Play For Nigeria

Following the reduction of their transfer ban, Chelsea have completed the signing of Norwegian born Nigerian star Bryan Fiabema. The Blues had been banned for two transfer window but had it reduced to one by the Court of Arbitration Sports (CAS) after appealing.

With the decision, Lampard’s side were free to conduct business in January having served the ban in the summer transfer window.

And they have decided to make a Norwegian U-17 star Bryan Fiabema their first signing of the January window. The 16-year-old was signed from Norwegian league side Tromso IL.  According to the Dailymail, Fiabema will link up with Chelsea’s U-18 team and will don the No 9 jersey.

Meanwhile, Soccernet.ng also understands the youngster has been approached by Norway to commit his international future unto them.

Although he was born in the country and has represented them at U-17 level, Fiabema is eligible to play for Nigeria through his Nigerian father.  Fiabema’s father is from Okrika, Rivers State, Nigeria, and that could see his son switch international allegiance.

And with that in mind, Norway have approached him to play for the country at the senior level. The 16-year-old has scored seven goals in 20 appearances for Norway’s U-17 side.
