Onyekuru Set To Get An Escape Route From Monaco Woes But On One Condition

He joined Monaco six months ago, but the Super Eagles star Ligue 1 adventure is set to come to an end with Galatasaray ready to take him on an initial loan deal.

Onyekuru joined Monaco from Everton last summer, but his time at the Stade Louis II has been disappointing. Although he’s had his fair share of injuries, the 22-year-old has been restricted to just four Ligue 1 appearance this campaign when fit.

With him struggling for game time, the former Anderlecht striker is set to leave Les Monégasques with Galatasaray reportedly close to sealing a deal for the Nigerian international.

Onyekuru spent the whole of last campaign with Galatasaray, scoring 16 goals in all competitions as the Lions won the Turkish Super Lig.

A move to the Türk Telekom Stadium could be what Onyekuru needs as he attempts to revive his career. And according to GFN, he could get his move anytime soon after Monaco vice-chairman agreed a deal in principle with Gala over a loan move for the 22-year-old with no option to buy.

However, Onyekuru leaving will depend on the decision of Gerard Moreno who replaced the sacked Leonardo Jardim as Monaco’s boss.

According to GFN also, the former Spain boss wants to take a look at all his first team players before sanctioning a move for any of them.
