The Super Eagles skipper supplied a brace of assists as champions Al Nassr earned a convincing 4-1 win over Al Feiha in the Saudi Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
A hat trick from Moroccan striker Abderrazak Hamdallah – two of which were provided by Ahmed Musa – and an Al Ghanam strike helped 10-man Al Nassr overpower Al Feiha, who also ended the fiery tie with nine men.
The league leaders extended their lead at the top of the log to five points following their come-from-behind win at the Al Majma’ah Sports City Stadium.
Chilean Ronnie Fernandez handed the hosts an 11th-minute lead but the afternoon soon turned worse for Al Feiha with the sending off of Ghana’s Samuel Kwame Owusu just before halftime.
Things appeared to get back in the hosts’ favour shortly after the restart with the dismissal of Al Nassr’s Jones, but the tie soon tilted to the visitor’s advantage yet again when Al Feiha had another man – Cape Verde’s Gege – sent off.
The champions finally equalized with 17 minutes left on the clock after Abderrazak Hamdallah converted from the penalty spot.
Rui Vitória’s men took the lead for the first time in the match eight minutes later through Sultan Al Ghanam. Hamdallah then extended Al Nassr’s lead courtesy of an Ahmed Musa assist, before the Nigeria international and the Moroccan combined again to score Al Nassr’s fourth.
The victory over the 9th-placed Al Feiha earned champions Al Nassr their 9th win of the league campaign with 29 points amassed from the 13 matches played. Ahmed Musa, however, is yet to open his goalscoring account for the season despite featuring in eight games so far.
