Golden Eaglets’ campaign for a sixth world title in Brazil came to an end with a 3-1 loss to the Netherlands early on Wednesday morning to the chagrin of football fans across the country.
Ajax young forward Sontje Hansen netted a hat-trick to propel the Netherlands past Nigeria 3-1 and into the quarter-finals at the FIFA U-17 World Cup Brazil 2019™.
The five-time world champions showed frailty in defence and lack of coordination and cutting edge in attack throughout the tournament, scoring nine goals and conceding another nine in four matches.

Coach Manu Garba’s boys, having lost to Australia in their last group match, once again came up short against the Netherlands to crash out of the 2019 FIFA U17 World Cup.
Fans took to social media site Twitter to voice out their frustration.

Tribalism, favoritism corruption and man-knows-man is the problem in Nigerian soccer. There is one part of the country that has been side-lined. Let us look inward and pick people according to their performance. You people can now see who Amunike really is
