CD Leganes new manager Javier Aguirre has charged his men, including Super Eagles duo of Kenneth Omeruo and Chidozie Awaziem, to face in-form Real Sociedad not with fear but with a desire to give 100% on the pitch.
Leganes are sat at the root of the La Liga table after claiming a single win and just five points from their initial twelve matches played.
However, Mexican coach Javier Aguirre, who recently managed the Egyptian National Football Team until his dismissal immediately after Egypt’s loss against South Africa during AFCON 2019, has been drafted in to help steer Leganes out of relegation waters.
Speaking to the media in the press room of the ID Butarque ahead of Friday’s match against Real Sociedad, the 60-year-old tactician tasked his men to give their all and nothing less.
“We face the game with enthusiasm. Real Sociedad is a team that plays good football, very dynamic. They have good players and it will be complicated, they will demand a lot,” said Javier.
“People already laugh a little. Eye, all this must be strengthened with results. We can improve the environment, there is good work, fit and in depth the team looks healthy, but of course, we have to corroborate this in the field You have to leave your skin on the field, 90 minutes, and that’s what I ask the players,” Javier Aguirre concluded.
Both Kenneth Omeruo, 26, and Chidozie Awaziem, 22, are in coach Aguirre’s match day squad for the trip to Sociedad.
