Ighalo Goes Spiritual As He Reacts To CAF Nomination

The Shanghai Greenland Shenhua striker is among the three Nigerians that are in CAF’s 30 men shortlist- the other two being Wilfred Ndidi and Victor Osimhen.

His nomination comes after he won the golden boot at the 2019 Africa Cup in Egypt-scoring five goals. Although he retired from international football after the tournament, his performance in the biennial tournament was enough to earn him a spot in the nominee’s list.

And it seems that took the former Watford striker by surprise as he reacted to the nomination in an unusual way. Reacting to his nomination, Ighalo decided to go religious on his social media page.

“God is going to put you in a place of honour even when men think you don’t deserve it, the former Granada striker posted on his Twitter page.

The winner of the award will be announced on January 7, 2020, in a ceremony that will take place at Citadel Azure, Hurghada, Egypt.
