How Playing For Barcelona Changed My Mindset About Football, Says Super Falcons Star

Not many football players have the grace of playing in one of the biggest clubs in Spain. Even the few players that have been privileged of playing with the Barcelona FC ladies tend to have some exciting stories to tell.

This is the case of Super Falcons forward, Asisat Oshoala, who seems to be enjoying his growing status with the Barcelona ladies in Spain.

The forward joined the Catalan team permanently from the Chinese Women League side Dalian Quanjian FC in June and has since become one of the team’s top players also revealing that she is enjoying her time at the club.

She said: “ I have always dreamt of playing for Barcelona but I never thought it would ever happen. When you’re surrounded by a team of great women, it makes you want to do more on and off the pitch,” she told Sports Extra.

“I’m at Barcelona to make myself better, I know a lot of people look up to me to make them proud and let the world know there are good players in Africa that can be good role models to millions of kids.”

The 25-year-old says playing football professionally has been life-changing for her, a path she never knew she’ll take.

“I never had the thought of playing football professionally, I never took it seriously,” she said.
