Why Super Eagles Must Beat Brazil – NFF President Amaju Pinnick

The President of the nation’s football governing body has charged the Super Eagles players to go for the win and nothing else when the team face Brazil later today at the Singapore National Stadium.

Reigning Copa America champions Brazil are rearing to unleash their finest stars on the Gernot Rohr-tutored side but NFF boss Amaju Pinnick is confident that the young Nigeria team have enough quality to pull off a shock win.

PSG’s Neymar, Liverpool’s Firmino and Bayern Munich’s Coutinho are some of the stars expected to start in attack for the Selecao but speaking at the team hotel in Singapore on Saturday, Amaju Pinnick charged the 21-man Super Eagles squad to make the nation proud and not be star-struck.

”Nigeria is a team in Africa that is feared and I believe you guys can reenact that again. It is just very simple, play to the instructions of the coaches and we can do it,” Pinnick said.

”Forget all those faces, Neymar. They also look at Ndidi, they also look at Iwobi, Chukwueze and Osimhen. They look at everybody. Name is another word for nomenclature and it ends there.”

”It is a thing of pride, it is an international friendly which is basically preparatory but you know in Nigeria every match is important to everybody.

”It is on NTA, AIT, SuperSport. Everybody wants to watch that game so we must win the game. We want to be number one in Africa, we are number three in Africa, Senegal drew with them, Senegal is number one.

”If we beat them tomorrow we will be number one in Africa and that’s where we want to go going to the Nations Cup qualifiers,” he concluded.
