Exclusive: Former Nigeria’s Goalkeeper Showers Praise On Rohr Over Players Invited For Benin, Lesotho Clash

Ex international, Dosu Joseph believes the list of players invited for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin and Lesotho have the potentials of picking the maximum points.

Recall that on Wednesday, the German tactician released a 23-man list and three stand-by for the double clash in November. Some of the notable names on the list include Alex Iwobi, Ahmed Musa, Wilfred Ndidi, Moses Simon, Victor Osimhen, William Troost-Ekong, Samuel Chukwueze, Samuel Kalu and few to mention.

The Atlanta Olympic gold medalist told Soccernet.ng that Rohr has maintained stability and continuity with the blend of players he invited for the 2021 AFCON qualifiers.

He revealed that the return of Musa to the team will also add help to the morale of the players after missing out against Brazil in an international friendly game.

“The list of invited players for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Benin and Lesotho by Super Eagles technical adviser, Gernot Rohr is very commendable,” Dosu told Soccernet.ng

“It shows the direction the German tactician wants to take our football to in the next couple of years. The players he invited are spot on considering the fact that some of the players featured against Ukraine and Brazil in the international friendly games the team played.

“I have no doubt that the players have what it takes to pick the maximum points against Benin and Lesotho if they don’t underestimate them.”
