Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has been warned to desist from making any attempt to sign star midfielder, Thomas Muller during the January transfer window.
The German is unhappy with a lack of playing time at the Allianz Arena and claimed earlier this month he could seek a move when the transfer window reopens.
Manchester United have long admired the 30-year-old and recent reports claim Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has approved a move for the forward. However, Salhiamidzic has poured cold water on suggestions Muller could move to Old Trafford.
‘That’s a story you want to write [Muller being sold],’ said the Bayern chief.
‘We have two players [Niklas Sule and Lucas Hernandez] out for months and you are trying to tell us to sell a player. There’s no reason for doing this.’
Solskjaer is keen to bolster his frontline and United are interested in Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic and Lyon’s Moussa Dembele.
Anthony Martial is set to return for his first league start in over two months in today’s clash against Norwich City.
