See What Marco Silva Said About Iwobi Following Everton’s Win

Everton manager Marco Silva has singled out Alex Iwobi and Fabian Delph for praise after they played a starring role in the Blues 3-2 win over Wolves at Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon.

In what was a Premier League classic, the Toffees secured the maximum points courtesy a brace from Richarlison and a goal Alex Iwobi.

The Nigerian international who was making his first league start and his home debut for Everton since he joined from Arsenal on deadline day now has two goals in as many games for the Blues.

Speaking after the match, Everton manager, Marco Silva praised the Super Eagles star and another new signing in the person of Fabian Delph.

Delph who joined Everton from Man City in the summer was also making his first start for the team after a hamstring injury ruled him out of the first three league matches.

“[Delph] showed a very good performance and Fabian is not in his best physical condition yet,” the manager said. “He will improve more. I was concerned a little bit if he could play the 90 minutes this afternoon because he played 70-75 on Wednesday.

“He was really good on the pitch. If not, I would take him out before the end. His quality, no doubts about that. He showed that and it’s really important. Not just him, Alex [Iwobi] performed this afternoon.

“For them, it is easier than some of the others. They know Premier League. For Fabian and Alex, nothing is new, just that they are playing now in our blue shirt. For the players from abroad, it is more difficult. It was a very good performance coming from Fabian but it is something I expect.”
