Manchester United poor away form in the Premier League continued on Sunday as the Red Devils were thrashed 2-0 by West Ham at the London Stadium.
Goals from Andriy Yarmolenko in the 44th minue and Aaron Cresswell in the 84th minute was enough to earn West Ham a valubale three points.
Soccernet.ng rates the performance of the Manchester United players against West Ham.
David de Gea 5 – Helpless for West Ham’s first but would have been disappointed to not save Aaron Cresswell’s free-kick.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka 7 – The only real positive for United, once again giving a performance blessed with organisation and skill. Kept his side very tight.
Harry Maguire 5 – On a general level, his defending was spot on, reducing West Ham to hardly any chances at all, but his positioning for Andriy Yarmolenko’s goal was poor. Moreover, he missed an easy chance to equalise.
Victor Lindelof 5 – Passing was not as ambitious as it could have been and the Swede looked uncertain whenever the ball was in the air.
Ashley Young 4 – Crossing was once again wayward and general movement up the pitch was turgid. Also at fault positionally for West Ham’s goal and gave away the free-kick for the home side’s second.
Nemanja Matic 5 – Passed the ball with more composure and consideration, but overall decison making remained too slow.
Scott McTominay 6 – Played with more aggression and tempo than his other midfield partners, almost laying on an assist for Maguire, but lack of quality in the final third is a problem.
Andreas Pereira 5 – Ole Gunnar Solskjaer picks him for his work off the ball, which was once again solid, but his work with the ball at his feet – aside from one cross – was painfully substandard.
Juan Mata 4 – Playing centrally doesn’t suit the Spaniard, who seemed to be crowded and unable to influence proceedings. Missed a sitter two minutes after half-time.
Daniel James 4 – Just did not seem to be in the game. Made the right runs but never seemed to be in a position to affect anything.
Marcus Rashford 4 – Had a real stinker. Looked very lethargic, failed to create any sense of presence in the box, and went off with a hamstring injury on 60 minutes.
