Tammy Abraham became the youngest player to score a hat trick for Chelsea in the Premier League as the Blues crushed in emphatic fashion the resistance of Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Molineux on Saturday afternoon.
Red hot Tammy Abraham got himself yet another fine first half brace to equal a record set by a certain CR7 thirteen years ago and hand Chelsea a 2-5 victory, only their second away win of the season.
The youngster became the third player in Premier League history to score two goals or more in three consecutive appearances aged 21 or younger since Cristiano Ronaldo (2006) and Dele Alli (2017) achieved same.
Chelsea put up an exhilarating first half display that yielded three cracking goals and did just enough to secure the win in the second 45 to claim their second away win of the campaign and render Wolves winless after Match Day 5.

Wolves were unbeaten in their two Premier League meetings with Chelsea last season and to address that, Frank Lampard changed his system to incorporate three central defenders and match Wolves, with Zouma, Barkley and Pulisic starting on the bench. Rudiger claimed his first start of the season on his return from injury alongside Christensen, with Willian and Alonso also included in the side.
Nuno Espirito Santo paid back in similar coin as the Portuguese made four changes to the side that lost 3-2 to Everton away from home, with Cutrone and Vinagre dropping to the bench, while the suspended Boly and Bennett dropled out of the squad entirely. Jota, Jonny, Vallejo and Moutinho all started in their places.
After a dull opening half hour, Chelsea took the lead in extraordinary fashion. An attempted short corner routine went wrong but the loose ball fell to Fikayo Tomori outside the box and the centre-half sent a stunning curler into the top-left corner from some distance!
Moments later, the Blues were 2-0 up.
The red hot Abraham produced a clever shot on the turn after referee Graham Scott played advantage following Conor Coady’s foul on Mason Mount inside the penalty area.
The 21-year-old was on hand to make it 3-0 just before the break, this time with a scorching header. Tammy Abraham used his strength well to get on the end of a fine Marcos Alonso’s cross and nod past Rui Patricio.

That strike made it six goals in three Premier League games for Abraham and shot the Anglo-Nigerian to the top of the goalscorer chart alongside Sergio Aguero.
But the young lad was not done. And few minutes into the second half, he had his hat trick. After turning Conor Coady inside out on the edge of the penalty area, the outstanding Abraham advanced and slotted home with superb composure.

But Frank Lampard’s side will continue their search for a first clean sheet of the season after Romain Saiss pulled a goal back for the hosts as he got on the end of a corner to beat Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Wolves, marking their 130th Molineux anniversary, refused to stay down and with five minutes of play left, Italian striker Cutrone converted for the hosts from close range to make it 2-4.
Mason Mount scored with the last kick of the game for 2-5 to bring an end to a real goal fest.
In the end, another shaky second half showing from the Londoners could not mar an outstanding performance from Tammy Abraham and Chelsea would leave the Wolves stadium with all three points and a huge lift up to 6th on the EPL table.
