Arsenal secured a point against Manchester United in a game void of quality as two of the country’s most historic clubs showed where they currently stand in the footballing landscape.
Arsenal went behind on the stroke of half time to a Scott McTominay strike – deflected past Bernd Leno.
Grant Xhaka ducked out of the way much to the despair of the Arsenal fans, but they did get an equaliser 12 minutes into the second half as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang struck, despite being flagged off side only for it to be overturned by VAR.
Soccernet.ng rates the performance of the Man United players against Arsenal.
De Gea 7: Made excellent double save to deny Saka and Guendouzi. Defiant display in the United goal.
Young 6: Booked. Deputising for the injured Wan-Bissaka, always Mr Versatile. Not what he was, but tried hard.
Lindelof 7: His partnership with Maguire looks excellent, nice big and small combo. Spotted and cleared danger.
Maguire 7: Big presence in United’s defence in every sense. Has stepped up a level. Played Aubameyang offside, made big block.
Tuanzebe 7: Filled the left back role, kept Pepe very quiet but slack pass on equaliser. Spoiled his night.
McTominay 8: MotM. Strong in the tackle, battled hard for every challenge and scored a cracker. Excellent.
Pogba 6: Struggled to be fit for the game – and it showed. Looked off the pace. Only flashes of quality.
Lingard 7: Booked. His non-stop running and energy was a positive for United. Hard working.
James 7: Caused big problems for Arsenal – looks destined to be a top player. Slotted in straight away.
Pereira 7: Booked. His pace and forward runs were a feature for United. Decent. Getting better.
Rashford 6: Booked. Clearly not fully fit but still worked hard and put in a real shift. Played role in United goal.
