Arsenal Goal Set New Premier League Record In 2-2 Draw Against Watford

A Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s double was not enough to earn Arsenal a valuable three points as the Gunners were held to a 2-2 draw by Watford at the Vicarage Road in Sunday’s Premier League tie.

Interestingly, there were 20 passes in the build-up to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s second goal for Arsenal against Watford – the longest passing sequence leading to a goal in the 2019-20 Premier League campaign so far.

Before the goal, the Gunners took the lead in the 21st minute through a fine display that set up Aubameyang, to silence the home supporters.

The host could have leveled parity in the 35th minute when Will Hughes found himself in the Arsenal’s 18-yard box only to shoot the ball wide of the post.

In a matter of minutes, Watford was presented with chances to score but the duo of Gerard Deulofeu and Andre Gray fluffed their goal-scoring opportunities.

However, at the resumption of the second half, Watford kept the Gunners at bay as they pressed hard to put the team back into contention as Tom Cleverley scored in the 53rd minute.

Abdoulaye Doucoure could have sent the home crowd into rapture as he was gifted with the chance to equalize for the team only to misdirect his shot.

Arsenal was left with little goal-scoring chances as the host defended tightly and attacked massively once they are with the ball.

Watford continuos attack finally paid off as Roberto Pereyra leveled score via a penalty in the 83rd minute to the delight of the home supporters.

All efforts to grabbed the needed victory proved abortive as both teams ended the encounter with a point apiece.
