Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen was on fire once again after scoring another brace in Lille 3-0 win over Saint Etienne in their Ligue 1 clash on Wednesday night.
The 20-year-old has now scored four times in three Ligue 1 games for Les Douges. He introduced himself in the French topflight by scoring twice on his debut to give Lille a 2-1 victory over Nantes.
He fired blank in Les Douges 1-0 loss to Amiens last time out, but he has found his scoring touch again, scoring twice, to give Christophe Galtier’s side the victory against Les Verts.
It is worth noting that the Super Eagles star did not start the match as he was brought on for the injured Loic Remy in the 17th minute.
His first came after he controlled a Domagoj Bradaric’s low cross in the box before firing past Ruffier in Saint Etienne’s goal. Jonathan Bamba doubled Les Douges in the 69th minute from the penalty spot before Osimhen sealed the victory by scoring his second and Lille’s third of the game.
His second was a carbon copy of his first. The former Royal Charleroi star got on the end of a low cross from the right to fire in perfectly from the box.
With his brace, Osimhen sits at the top of Ligue 1 scorers chart with four goals. He will be eager to continue in this form when Les Douges travel to Reims on Sunday in the final Ligue 1 match before the international break.
