Solskjaer Reveals United’s Penalty Taker Ahead Of Clash Against Crystal Palace

Ahead of Manchester United’s Premier League clash against Crystal Palace on Saturday at Old Trafford, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed there won’t be any changes in the team’s penalty duties.

There was a lot of criticism directed at Solskjaer after Pogba missed a penalty in United’s 1-1 draw against Wolves last Monday.

The French midfielder who has missed his last four spot-kicks for United took the penalty ahead of Marcus Rashford who was believed to be United’s first penalty taker after he scored in the opening day win over Chelsea.

However, Solskjaer has revealed United have no first-choice penalty taker and that is likely not to change soon. He told BBC Sports that Pogba and Rashford will continue to decide on who wants to take the penalty between themselves.

“I’m sure you’re going to see Pogba score a penalty for United again. “Don’t be surprised if Marcus or Paul score the next one. There’s no fighting among them.”

Meanwhile, the Norwegian confirmed the club are in talks with a couple of clubs over Alexis Sanchez, but also revealed he could still stay this summer.

“There are still talks on Alexis with some clubs,” he added. “He played in a behind-closed-doors game – he’s working hard so let’s see in September.”
