Liverpool, Arsenal Test Might In Anfield Showdown

Two teams with a 100% winning records in the Premier League will come at loggerhead at Anfield as Liverpool welcome Arsenal on Saturday in what is expected to be a blockbuster clash.

With 30 goals in the last six meetings between these two at Anfield, it’s likely to be another eventful night under the lights on Merseyside.

Liverpool defeated Norwich 4-1 in their opening fixture before edging Southampton 2-1 at St Mary Stadium last weekend to seat top of the Premier League table. While Arsenal pip Newcastle 1-0 at St James Park before overcoming Burnley 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium.

Jurgen Klopp’s side will be determined to cement their place at the top of the table and put some early distance between themselves and title rivals Manchester City.

Arsenal haven’t won a league game at Anfield since 2012 but this side, with Dani Ceballos already looking the part and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang already in-form, will certainly give Jurgen Klopp’s team plenty to think about this Saturday.

Possible Line Up

Liverpool XI: Adrian; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; Milner, Fabinho, Henderson; Salah, Firmino, Mane

Arsenal XI: Leno; Maitland-Niles, David Luiz, Sokratis, Monreal; Guendouzi, Willock, Ceballos; Pepe, Lacazette, Aubameyang

Head to Head

This will be the 55th Premier League fixture between these two sides. No other Premier League fixture has seen more goals than this one – 155 goals in 54 games. This fixture has also seen the most number of hat-tricks (6 in total).

Liverpool are unbeaten in their last eight matches against Arsenal in all competitions (W4 D4). They have not had a run comparable to this since February 2000. On the other hand, Arsenal are without a win in their last six league visits to Anfield (W0 D2 L4), conceding two or more goals in each match (22 in total).

Betting Tips

Liverpool’s recent ascendancy in this fixture, their current form and the fact that the game is at Anfield, means the Reds should be able to beat the Gunners on Saturday.
