Chelsea hero Tammy Abraham reveals what was said at half-time that changed the Norwich game

The Blues striker has revealed part of the team conversations that was held in the Chelsea dressing room at halftime with the scores leveled at two-all , with Chelsea eventually winning the match thanks to a Tammy Abraham brace.

Tammy also expressed his delight at scoring the brace that condemned Norwich to a 2-3 defeat at the Carrow Road as Chelsea claimed their first league win under Frank Lampard.

The England youth international scored the game’s opener within minutes of kick off but Chelsea were pegged back minutes later by the home side. Mason Mount restored the Blues lead but Teemu Pukki punished the Pensioner’s defence with his fifth goal of the season.

With the game heading towards another lame draw, it was Tammy who showed his quality by getting the better of the two markers on him to send a low drive past Tim Krul in the Canaries goal.

Speaking to BBC Sports after the match and monitored by Soccernet.ng, Chelsea goalscorer Tammy Abraham said, “It’s a great afternoon for myself and the boys. We came into the dressing room at half-time and said we need to win this game.”

“We knew coming here was never going to be easy, it’s always tough.

“We started off on the front foot, we knew we had to. We conceded but we came in to dressing room and knew there would be more chances.”

After firing blank in his first two games of the season, Tammy finally got among the goals, even grabbing the winner midway into the second half.

“It is something I have always dreamed about doing, to score for my childhood club. To get into the first team and to start scoring goals. I am just happy I can help my team.”

“I wouldn’t say it’s a relief (to get the three points) but we knew we had to win. The first two games of the season were tough. We came here knowing we needed the three points.”
