The Uruguayan legend who spent time at Manchester United as revealed in details how the row between the Red Devils manager and his once beloved adopted son went down.
Diego Forlan has pointed out that if not for the quick intervention of striker Ruud van Nistelrooy and then-captain Roy Keane, the duo of Sir Alex Ferguson and the iconic David Beckham would have had a go at each other and created a much bigger mess.
After achieving huge success together, Beckham and Ferguson’s most public fallout came in February 2003.

The United boss, disgusted by the England international’s mistake during a defeat by Arsenal, kicked a boot at Beckham that left him with a cut above the eye after the game.
A few versions of the story have been written but Diego Forlan, present in the dressing room on the night, discussed in depth the famous incident between Beckham and Alex Ferguson.
“Ferguson and Beckham began to insult each other,” he revealed.
“Every insult was worse than the last one and both men wanted to have the final word.
“Then Ferguson left and it seemed that the discussion was over, but then Beckham said something else.
“Ferguson turned around and saw a boot lying on the floor and kicked it towards Beckham.
“A stud hit him in the eyebrow and he was cut.
“We all saw the blood and thought ‘that didn’t happen’, but within a moment both men were getting ready to fight.
“That was when Roy Keane and Ruud van Nistelrooy stepped in to separate them.”
The once father-son relationship was broken beyond repair that night and a few months later David Beckham left for Real Madrid.
