Former Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets coach, John Obuh believes the Paul Aigbon led Flying Eagles have the capability to overcome Burkina Faso in the final of the All Africa Games (AAG).
The team defeated Mali 5-4 via penalty shootouts in the semi-final on Wednesday, to qualify for the final of the tournament for the first time.
They are still unbeaten at the competition and will face a difficult task against Burkina Faso in the final. Both teams met at the group stages of the game which ended 1-1.
However, the former Flying Eagles coach told Soccernet.ng that the team must show the hunger and determination to overcome Burkina Faso for the gold medal.
“I have been impressed with the performance of the players at the All Africa Game (AAG) in Rabat, Morocco. There is no doubt that Paul Aigbon has done a wonderful job on the team but his efforts will only be appreciated if they defeat Burkina Faso in the final.
“Another interesting thing about this game is the fact that both teams met at the group stages and the game ended 1-1. This will give the Nigerian team to the opportunity to watch the clips and know where they can fix before the final match.
“I expect the players to remain focused, keep to possession and be ruthless in front of goal if they are to beat their opponent.
