South Africans Finding It Hard To Accept Loss against Nigeria

South Africans have taken to social media to express their disappointment at the result between the Bafana Bafana and Super Eagles in the AFCON quarter-final clash between the two sides.

The Super Eagles made it three wins out of three over their perennial rivals in AFCON matches between them. Goals from Samuel Chukwueze and William Troost Ekong gave the team a 2-1 victory who scored through Bongani Zungu.

South Africa fans including rapper AKA took to social media to express their displeasure at the result. The rivalry between Nigeria and South Africa is bigger than football which was why the defeat was a hard pill to swallow for South Africans.

South Africans especially the guys have always been xenophobic towards Nigerian guys living in their country. They accused Nigerian guys of taking up their girls and jobs.

Although South Africa is far more developed than Nigeria, they have always suffered from an inferiority complex when it comes to dealing with Nigerians.

In football, they have always been in the shadow of Nigeria. Last night’s match was a chance for them to get one over the Super Eagles for the first time in AFCON but it was the three-time AFCON champions who once again proved their superiority over their rivals.

Nevertheless, while South Africans were mourning another loss to the Super Eagles, Nigerians savoured the moment by trolling them.

Nigeria will hope to continue their good form in the semifinals when they take on Algeria or Ivory Coast.
