See The Player That Is Set To Take Over Hazard’s Number 10 Jersey At Chelsea

Brazil star Willian has confirmed he has been offered the vacant number 10 jersey by Chelsea and he will be taking up the offer.

The number 10 jersey is vacant following Hazard’s big-money move to Real Madrid this summer. The Belgian international has been Chelsea’s number 10 since 2014 after wearing the number 17 in his first year at the club.

But he ended his seven-year stay at the Bridge by moving to Los Blancos for a reported fee of 150m pounds. With him gone now, the number 10 jersey at Chelsea is now vacant and there have been a lot of names linked to the number.

Highly-rated youngster, Callum Hudson Odoi was tipped to take over the shirt in an attempt to convince him to stay at the club. The England international was the subject of a move to Bayern Munich last January but Chelsea rebuffed the Bavarians offer.

The Bundesliga champions were ready to offer him the number 10 jersey which is vacant following Robben’s retirement, but Chelsea were not willing to shift their ground as they consider him to be an important member of the team.

With that in mind, there were reports that he will be offered the number 10 jersey following Hazard’s exit. New signing Christian Pulisic was believed to be Odoi’s rival for the shirt number.

However, it would not be so as Willian confirmed he has been offered the shirt and he is ready to wear it. Willian wore the number 10 for Brazil at Copa America after he was called up to replace Neymar who is the owner of the number.

He also wore the number ten jersey at his previous clubs Shakhtar Donetsk and Anzhi Makhachkala. Meanwhile, Christian Pulisic could take over Willian’s former jersey number (22) having won it at Dortmund.

Willian is yet to link up with Chelsea for preseason due to his participation in Brazil’s Copa America victory this summer.
