Former Super Eagles star Amuneke Sacked as Tanzania Boss

Former Super Eagles star, Emmanuel Amunike has been sacked as the manager of Tanzania after the Taifa stars went out in the group stages of the Total Africa Cup of Nations going on in Egypt.

Drawn in Group C alongside Algeria, Senegal and Kenya, Tanzania failed to pick up a point losing all three group matches, conceding eight goals.

As a result of their woeful performance, the Tanzania Football Federation has now decided to terminate the contract of Emmanuel Amunike. The TFF announced this on their twitter page.

The former Super Eagles star had led the Taifa stars to their first AFCON for the first time in 39 years. But his time as the team’s boss has now come to an end. Tanzania Football Federation will announce his replacement in due time.
