Liverpool had to dig deep to snatch the maximum at Anfield as the Reds defeated Tottenham 2-1 in Sunday’s Premier League tie.
Roberto Firmino gave the host an early lead in the 16th minutes with a sublime finish to send the vociferous supporters in frenzy.
However, Lucas Moura levelled the score for Tottenham in the 70th minute to silence the home fans before Toby Alderweireld’s own goal gave Liverpool the much-needed victory for the Premier League title.
The win means Liverpool are back to the top of the Premier League standing on 79 points, one point ahead of Manchester City who have a game to play.
