How to join Pepsi Football Academy in Nigeria

Regarded as the most prestigious football academy in Nigeria, Pepsi Football Academy is widely known for its prowess in giving footballing opportunities to the younger generation and providing world-class development and enhancement to grassroot football players who possess a dream to excel at the top as a professional footballer.

Since its inception in 1992, based at Agege Stadium in Lagos, the Pepsi Football Academy have since produced names that went on to defend the shirt of Nigeria as a nation. Names such as John Obi Mikel, Peter Odemwingie, Sunday Mba, Elderson Echiejile are some of the stars who started the path to their professional careers at the Academy. In 2006, the Academy set up a UK scholarship scheme, which has awarded scholarships to 13 players. It has continued to grow over the years and now has 13 centres all over the country whilst posing over 3000 students as of today.

The Football Academy which received full sponsorship from Pepsi in 1994 is open to children aged 5-18 years of both genders with a dream to play football at a high level. The academy can boast of 54 qualified coaches in its 13 training centres Nationwide.

HOW TO JOIN PEPSI FOOTBALL ACADEMY

Firstly, participants are to get the registration form. No fees attached, but to get the forms, interested participants need to visit one of the training centres closest to them to get assessed in some little areas regarding footballing skills and intellectuals, if deemed worthy, he/she is provided an application form which can be taken home. The participants need to fill the forms provided and return back with his/her parents/guardian to complete the registration by submitting the forms along with certain required documents including:

  • Birth Certificate to confirm age
  • Passport Photographs of applicant and applicant’s parent
  • Educational results if available
  • Medical report history from qualified medical personnel

If application is accepted, the applicant can now go on to pay the necessary fees to begin training.

Registration fee for ages 5-14 years is N6,000

Registration fee for ages 15 and above is N12,000

It should be noted that unlike the FCBESCOLA LAGOS, Pepsi academy do not provide accommodation or formal education for participants as it’s strictly football.
