Super Eagles will be hoping to end their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign on a winning note as the team host Seychelles on Friday at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, Delta.
Having sealed qualification to the bi-annual tournament slated for Egypt in June, the three-time Africa champions under team’s technical adviser, Gernot Rohr has shown some elements of understanding, hunger and determination to get results.
The last time both teams met, Nigeria thrashed Seychelles 3-0 in Victoria last year and will be hoping to replicate such feat in what is to be an inconsequential game.
On his expectations from the Sychelles game, the Franco-German soccer tactician said he expects the Super Eagles to defeat the Pirates of Seychelles.
He said the game against Seychelles is a very important game for the Super Eagles, most especially as they want to top the group.
“We want to have the highest goal-scorer in the AFCON qualifier, we also want to top the group.
“So, the match against Seychelles is very important to us,” Rohr concluded.
Also, Super Eagles’ Captain, Ahmed Musa has assured Nigerians that the team will not underestimate Seychelles when they meet in their last Egypt 2019 African Nations Cup qualifier today.
“The Eagles are ready for today’s game. We are here to win. The players are in high spirit and they want to continue putting smiles on the faces of Nigerians.”
