Super Eagles midfielder, Ogenyi Onazi has undergone a successful surgery for his ruptured Achilles according to his club Trabzonspor.
Onazi picked up the injury in his side’s Super Lig 4- 1 win against Caykur Rizespor on Sunday. Onazi was stretchered off the pitch in the 32nd minute following the injury and was replaced by Juraj Kucka.
The Injury means the 25-year-old could be set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines. It also puts his participation in next year’s Africa Cup of Nations finals in jeopardy.
His estimated recovery time is still unknown for now.
