AWCON: Nigeria whip Zambia 4-0

Nigeria’s Super Falcons have bounced back to winning ways after beating Zambia 4-0 in their group B fixture of the 2018 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations on Wednesday.

The Super Falcons opened the floodgate of goals through Desire Oparanozie in the 41st minutes with a simple tap-in before Francisca Ordega increased Nigeria’s lead in the 69th minutes.

Rasheedat Ajibade scored one of the tournament’s most beautiful goal when she netted in the 75th minutes to put the game beyond the reach of the Shepolopolo of Zambia before Amarchi Okoronkwo netted the fourth goal for the reigning Africa champions.

The victory puts Nigeria top on the log with three points pending the result between South Africa and Equatorial Guinea. Nigeria will be hoping to defeat Equatorial Guinea in their last group B match on Saturday to seal qualification to the knockout stages.
