Nigerian striker, Kelechi Iheanacho was on target for Leicester City against Valencia in the 1-1 preseason game at the King Power Stadium on Wednesday.
Iheanacho showed the instincts of a poacher, positioning himself impeccably to benefit from a goalmouth scramble to fire the Foxes ahead just 11 minutes inside the first-half.’
It didn’t take Valencia long to get back in the game, with Daniel Parejo’s 18th-minute strike going right through the post. The game didn’t see much more action after that.
Iheanacho who was replaced by Callum Elder at the beginning of the second-half, has been consistent in his recent form for the English side, coming from a not so impressive Wolrd Cup outing. The 21-year-old has now scored twice in two games for Leicester, as he was on target when his side lost 2-1 to Udinese on Sunday.
Commenting on his recent form, the Taye Academy product took to Twitter to say he’s still a “work in progress.”
Iheanacho will likely be in action again on Saturday when Leicester face Lille in their last pre-season game at Stade Pierre-Mauroy in France. And then they’ll open their EPL campaign on an explosive note when they face Manchester United.
