Flying Eagles face stern test against Mauritania today

Nigeria’s Flying Eagles will be aiming for another impressive performance as they confront Mauritania in the first leg of the 2019 Africa U-20 Nations Cup final qualifier today (Friday).

The team which departed the shores of the country on Thursday due to fear of FIFA sanction over the nation’s football leadership crisis may have to battle fatigue before today’s encounter.

Before now, the Flying Eagles defeated Guinea Bissau 3-2 on aggregate after holding the team 2-2 in Bissau in the first leg before winning the second leg 1-0 in Calabar.

Meanwhile, Flying Eagles coach, Paul Aigbogun has revealed that his team ‘s focus in getting the job done in the first leg.

“We can’t be overconfident but we know what we have to do. The most important thing is that we are leaving for the game after some uncertainties. The team are focused on the game and do what we need to do.”

The Flying Eagles missed out of the 2017 U-20 AFCON hosted in Zambia and failed to qualify for the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
