Argentina beat Nigeria 2-1, qualify for knockout stages

Super Eagles’ dream of qualifying to the round of 16 of the World Cup has been dashed after losing 2-1 to Argentina in their last Group D game on Tuesday.

Argentina took the lead through Lionel Messi before Victor Moses’ penalty level score in the second half.

However, Rojo netted the winning goal in the 87th minutes to hand the Albiceleste the maximum points and ends Nigeria’s dream.
