Valverde announce squad for Valencia game

After a disappointing outing at the UEFA Champions League this week, Barcelona return to the La Liga to face Valencia as they continue their march towards the title.

Barca Coach, Ernesto Valverde has named his 18-man squad to battle The Bats at the Camp Nuo and there are a few adjustments to the squad compared to last week’s team.

Ivan Rakitic has been left out of the squad due to an injury he picked up on Tuesday against Roma. Also out injured is Lucas Digne who is expected to return to the team anytime soon. Aleix Vidal and Yerry Mina are also left out of the squad.

Making a return to the squad is Sergio Busquets who was unavailable last week due to an injury.

Goalkeepers: Marc-André ter Stegen, Jasper Cillessen

Defenders: Nélson Semedo, Gerard Piqué, Jordi Alba, Sergi Roberto, Samuel Umtiti, Thomas Vermaelen

Midfielders: Sergio Busquets, Denis Suarez, Andrés Iniesta, Philippe Coutinho, Paulinho Bezerra, André Gomes

Forwards: Luis Suárez, Lionel Messi, Ousmane Dembélé, Paco Alcácer

With 79 points from 31 games, Barcelona remains the strong favourites to win the La Liga this season. In second place is Atletico Madrid who has 68 points from 31 games.
