Ahead of today’s international friendly match against Poland in preparation for the 2018 World Cup, Super Eagles defender, Leon Balogun has disclosed that the team has nothing to be scared of Poland’s Robert Lewandowski.
The Bayer Munich striker remains one of Europe’s most deadly striker and he spearheaded Poland attack in their qualification to Russia.
Both players are no strangers having played against each other in the German Bunsesliga considering the fact that Balogun plays for FSV Mainz 05.
However, Balogun told Soccernet.com.ng from his base in Germany that the team won’t give Lewandowski a chance to score against Nigeria.
“We are confident of doing a great job against Poland regardless of the fact that they are playing at home,” Balogun told Soccernet.com.ng .
“This is not a matter of playing against Robert Lewandowski because we have other quality players that could do the Super Eagles so much harm.
“But then, I don’t think we are scared of Lewandowski even though he’s a deadly striker that can score with both legs and his head,” he said.
