Super Eagles forward, Gabriel Okechukwu says he’s ready to give his best if selected to play against Poland in Friday’s international friendly game ahead of the World Cup in Russia.
Okechukwu, who was a revelation at the Africa Nations Championship (CHAN), where the home-based Super Eagles lost 4-0 to Morocco in the final; scoring three goals at the tournament.
The Akwa United utility player told Soccernet.com.ng that he would prove his worth if given the chance to play against Poland or Serbia.
“It’s always the dream of every player to represent its national team in any tournament and I feel so honoured to have been given the opportunity to fight for a shirt in the Super Eagles,” Okechukwu told Soccernet.com.ng.
“I really don’t feel intimidated with the quality of the European based players that I will be competing within the Super Eagles because what’s important for me at this point is to prove my worth to the coach once selected to play against Poland.”
