Date for El-Clasico second leg announced

La Liga president Javier Tebas has announced the date for the second leg of the El-Clasico, according to reports in Spain.

The second leg of the El-Clasico will be played on 6th of May at 8:45 pm (CET) at the Camp Nou.

Tebas was talking on Cadena SER’s ‘El Larguero’ programme and said the kick off time was to appease the American market, with the game in December having started at 1 pm.

Barcelona defeated Real Madrid 3-0 in the first leg of the tie at the Santiago Bernabeu in December.

Luis Suarez got the opening goal, while Lionel Messi scored the second goal from a penalty spot after Dani Carvajal handed the ball in the area in an attempt to stop a shot from going into Real Madrid goal post.

Alex Vidal added the third goal at the Santiago Bernabeu to add to Real Madrid’s woes.

Barcelona will have three La Liga games left after the El-Clasico. The Camp Nou outfit will have three La Liga games left which include the game against Villareal, Levante and Real Sociedad so the match between La Liga Champions and the League leaders will hold much importance like before.

The game also comes just days after the second legs of the Champions League semi-finals (which are slated for the 1st and 2nd May).

Barcelona and Real Madrid will hope to still remain in the Champions League, although theirs is still a long way to go before they can grab a place in the last four of the competition.
