Ndidi shifts focus to Super Eagles duty

Leicester City and Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has turned his attention to Nigeria’s World Cup qualifiers against Algeria after helping his Premier League side to a valuable point at Stoke City on Saturday.

Ndidi bagged 90 minutes of action for Leicester but could do nothing to deny the Potters who twice came from behind to claim a point in a thrilling game at Bet365 Stadium, a result that maintained the Foxes’ unbeaten start since Claude Puel’s arrival as Craig Shakespeare’s successor at the King Power stadium.

The Super Eagles who have already picked the only ticket from group B of the African qualifying series, following the lone goal victory over Zambia in Uyo on 7th October will on Friday, November 10 file out away from home against the Desert Foxes in their final game of the 2018 World Cup qualifying series.

Ndidi in a tweet after the game at Bet365 Stadium said: “We will keep going, Massive support from the traveling fans. Safe travel back home. National duty calls.”

The match at the Stade Mohamed Hamlaoui will kick off at 8.30pm Algeria time.
